Telehealth Updates

Telehealth and a Limited Number of In-Person Appointments are Available

12/5/2022

A limited number of in-person appointments are available each week, provided that Dallas County remains in stage Green or Yellow in regards to COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations. In-person appointments are limited and must be explicitly scheduled in advance. Cases of COVID-19, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and Influenza are increasing in our area as we move into winter. In the case of rising numbers in Dallas County, appointments may shift to Telehealth until case numbers decline.

Prior to scheduling an in-person appointment, patients are asked to:
  • discuss potential risks and benefits (including personal and household)
  • be symptom-free for at least 24-hours. (Symptoms of the currently dominant BA.4 and BA.5 variants include runny nose, cough, sore throat, fever, headache, muscle pain, and fatigue.)
  • have had no known exposure to someone who has tested positive or has suspected COVID-19 within the past 48 hours
  • either (a) have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 6 months or received a COVID-19 booster within the past 6 months (bivalent Omicron-specific boosters are now available at area pharmacies), or (b) remain masked during their in-person session.
  • confirm via the Patient Portal that they will be attending in person and complete a screening questionnaire on the day of their appointment. If experiencing symptoms, shift to a Telehealth appointment for that day.
  • In-person appointments may also be shifted to Telehealth if the clinician is experiencing symptoms or has had an exposure.

Telehealth will remain open as an option to all patients should they feel unwell, or if they simply prefer the convenience of Telehealth sessions.

In response to any future spikes in local COVID positivity and hospitalization rates. our physical office may close to protect the health of our patients, staff, and families. If this occurs, Telehealth services will remain available. Updates related to COVID-19 and the status of Telehealth and in-person appointment availability will be provided on this page.
