Telehealth Updates

Increasing COVID rates: Telehealth and Limited In-Person Appointments Available

8/11/2025

Picture
COVID-19 cases are once again rising across the US, and across Texas in particular, driven by the NIMBUS (NB1.8.1) variant. While this variant does not appear to cause more severe illness than previous strains, it is spreading more quickly. Many people are experiencing symptoms such as a sore throat that feels like "razor blades," mouth sores, hoarseness, fever, fatigue, and gastrointestinal upset.

I work with many clients who have chronic health conditions, and I take their well-being very seriously. For that reason, I am contining to offer telehealth appointments to anyone who prefers them. In-person appointments remain available, but I encourage you to consider the following:

  • If it has been more than six-months since your last COVID booster, please consider getting one. This remains our best protection against serious illness and long-COVID symptoms.
  • Masking in indoor public spaces is still a simple and effective way to reduce risk, especially when community spread is high.
  • If you are feeling unwell, especially with a sore throat, fever, or stomach issues, or if you believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, please switch your appointment to telehealth. I will do the same if I am feeling unwell or have had a potential exposure.

Switching to telehealth is quick and easy (just send me a message on the portal), and ensures we can continue our work together while reducing the risk of spreading illness.

Telehealth and In-Person Appointments Available

5/8/2025

At present, in-person appointments are available, however, please request a switch to Telehealth if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID, Flu, Strep, RSV, or stomach bug the day of your appointment or if you have been recently exposed to someone who is ill. Prior to scheduling an in-person appointment, clients are asked to:
  • discuss potential risks and benefits (including personal and household)
  • be symptom-free for at least 24-hours
  • have had no known exposure to someone who has tested positive (for COVID, Flu, Strep or RSV) or who is ill within the past 48 hours
  • either (a) be current with recommended vaccines or (b) remain masked during their in-person session
  • be aware that COVID-19 symptoms and seasonal allergies may have a similar presentation. If you have a new onset of symptoms, please shift to Telehealth for that day. (Note: Symptoms of the currently dominant variants may include fatigue, sore throat, cough, headache, rash, and/or altered sense of smell.)
  • be aware that in-person appointments may be shifted to Telehealth if your clinician is experiencing symptoms or has had an exposure to someone who is ill.

Telehealth will remain open as an option to all clients should they feel unwell, or if they simply prefer the convenience of Telehealth sessions.

January - February 2025  Telehealth and Limited In-Person Appointments Available

1/3/2025

In-person appointments are limited and must be explicitly scheduled in advance. Cases of COVID-19, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Strep, Influenza A and B, as well as Norovirus are on the rise. Due to the nature of my work with many clients who are immunocompromized, I am quite cautious when it comes to any potential exposure. In particular, if Dallas County experiences a surge with COVID-19 cases rising into the Orange risk/community spread range, all appointments will shift to Telehealth until case numbers decline. Please note that the latest bivalent COVID-19 boosters, as well as Flu and RSV vaccines, are currently available at local pharmacies.

At present, in-person appointments are available, however, please request a switch to Telehealth if you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID, Flu, Strep, RSV, or Norovirus (stomach bug) the day of your appointment or if you have been recently exposed to someone who is ill.

  • if non-symptomatic, either (a) be current with recommended vaccines or (b) remain masked during their in-person session
  • be aware that in-person appointments may be shifted to Telehealth if I am experiencing symptoms or have had an exposure to someone who is ill.

Telehealth will remain open as an option to all clients should they feel unwell, or if they simply prefer the convenience of Telehealth sessions.

Summer 2024: Telehealth and In-Person Appointments Available

In-person appointments are limited and must be explicitly scheduled in advance. Cases of COVID-19, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Strep A, and Influenza typically increase in our area over the winter months. If Dallas County experiences a surge with COVID-19 cases rising into the Orange risk/community spread range, appointments will shift to Telehealth until case numbers decline.

Please note that the latest bivalent COVID-19 boosters, as well as Flu and RSV vaccines, are currently available at local pharmacies.
